Your trail ride will be guided by our wrangler, Tim. He has lived on the farm the last several years and has cut the trail for you. He has hand picked the horses and will match you with the perfect horse to make your ride the best it can be.
The trail will take you along Stouts Creek, through the woods and into the lanes of the farm. In the spring and fall you will be able to see the baby calves with their mothers. If you are lucky you might get a glimpse of a beaver at work or the Great Blue Heron fishing. The property is home to countless other birds, including wild turkey and the Bald Eagle, and of course, the white tail deer. If the wildlife sees you but you do not see it, you still will enjoy your ride through the countryside and be able to appreciate the beautiful wild flowers and fresh air.
Guests from Columbia, MO had this to say: "Thank you so much for a great weekend! Riding horses was fun...It was exactly what we were hoping for." - Kris and Brittany
Missouri Trail Rides - Horseback Riding:
1 Hour Ride $30 per person, up to 6 riders. The trail will take you along Stouts Creek, through the woods and pass the pond. Approximate 1 hour
2 Hour Experience $50 per person, up to 6 riders. Your experience begins by brushing, spraying and saddling your horse. Then ride your horse on the trail around the farm approximately 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 hour riding time.
2 Hour Ride for the Experienced Rider $50 per person, up to 5 riders. Start your ride alongside the creek and leave the regular trail behind; climbing up the hill and past rock glades. Go back down the hill and past the pond to the end of the trail. This trail is more challenging than our normal trail and requires advanced skill to coax the horses up the hill and down again.
1/2 Day Ride, Fish & Lunch $80 per person, up to 6 riders. Ride the trail for approximately an hour before stopping at the pond. After a leisurely lunch at the pond, try your luck fishing or just relax until time to saddle up. If you would like to keep your fish, have Tim clean and ice them for you. Limits and sizes apply. The ride back will take about an hour. Please allow 3 1/2 to 4 hours. Minimum 2 riders required for this ride.
Custom Ride $30 Per Hour If you are an experienced rider and you don't like any of the above choices; you can choose the length of your ride and we will it arrange it for you (must be at least one and a half hours long). If you would like to do some cantering or trotting, (no running) please let us know at the time of your reservation.
All riders must be at least 8 years old to do the above rides; sorry no riding double.
Our younger wranglers can do a pony like ride--ages 2 and above. Pony like ride lets the younger riders get on a horse with a real riding helmet, hold on to the saddle horn and be led on a horse for about 30 minutes. Mom and Dad are welcomed to walk along. Pony-Like Ride $20.00
Lessons Available (Two 2 hour sessions) $100 The first day would consist of getting acquainted with the horse and tack, and a short ride. Depending on experience, at first the person might just be led around, but hopefully progress to a short ride by themselves by the end of the first session. The second session would be getting the horse ready and riding an actual trail (if instructor and person felt comfortable). Must be at least 8 years old.
Advanced lessons available at $30 per hour.
